India vs England (IND vs ENG) 2025

India and England will be locking horns against each other in a 5-match Test series to get their campaign underway in the fourth edition of the World Test Championship (WTC).

Both India and England failed to qualify for the final of the last WTC edition and will be keen to make amends. After qualifying for the final of the first two WTC editions, India missed out for the first time. On the other hand, England are yet to make it to the final and will be desperate to break the jinx in the ongoing edition.

The previous Test series between India and England took place in 2024 when the latter visited the subcontinent for five Tests. England had started the series on a good note by winning the first Test but India bounced back in style and won the remaining four games.

While England will be keen to avenge the loss, India will be eyeing another series victory and end their long wait for a series win in England. India have not won a Test series in England since 2007. The upcoming series will also give India an opportunity to turn things around after the disastrous performance in the last series.

India were on course to qualify for the WTC final for the third time in a row but two heavy defeats dashed their hopes. They suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss at home against New Zealand before being beaten 3-1 in Australia.
