भारत के लिए टी20 विश्व कप 2007 व 2011 विश्व कप में खिताब जीतने वाली भारतीय टीम के सदस्य रहे ऑलराउंडर खिलाड़ी युसुफ पठान ने अचानक अपने संन्यास का ऐलान करते हुए सभी को हैरान कर दिया। युसुफ ने भारत के लिए 2012 में आखिरी अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैच खेला था, तो वहीं इस सीजन वह घरेलू क्रिकेट में भी नजर नहीं आए।

भारतीय टीम का हिस्सा रह चुके तेज गेंदबाज विनय कुमार ने संन्यास का ऐलान किया और उसके कुछ मिनटों बाद ही भारत की 2007 टी20 विश्व कप विजेता और 2011 विश्व कप विजेता टीम के सदस्य रहे युसुफ पठान ने भी सभी फॉर्म ऑफ क्रिकेट से संन्यास ले लिया।
2012 के बाद से युसुफ ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट नहीं खेला था। तो वहीं ऑलराउंडर को आईपीएल 2019 के बाद ऑक्शन में खरीददार भी नहीं मिला और वह इस सीजन में घरेलू वडोदरा की टीम का हिस्सा नहीं हैं। युसुफ पठान के संन्यास के बाद ट्विटर पर फैंस के ट्वीट्स की बाढ़ आ गई। हजारों की संख्या में फैंस पूर्व खिलाड़ी को जिंदगी की दूसरी पारी की बधाई देते नजर आ रहे हैं।

Yusuf Pathan has announced his retirement from all formats of the game after playing 57 ODIs and 22 T20Is for India between 2007 and 2012. He was part of the 2007 T20 World Cup as well as the 2011 ODI World Cup, both of which were won by the Indian team.
