IPL 2021 का 48वां मुकाबला रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बैंगलोर और पंजाब किंग्स (RCB vs PBKS) के बीच सुपर संडे में खेला गया पहला मुकाबला रोमांच से भरा रहा. Mayank Agarwal और KL राहुल ने पावरप्ले में ताबड़तोड़ छक्के-चौकों की बरसात करते हुए 56 रन बटोरे थे. इस मैच में टॉस जीतकर कप्तान विराट कोहली ने बल्लेबाजी का फैसला करते हुए पंजाब किंग्स को फिल्डिंग के लिए आमंत्रित किया था. पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए आरसीबी ने 7 विकेट के नुकसान पर 164 रन का लक्ष्य दिया था. जिसका पीछा करने उतरी पंजाब ने इस मैच को 6 विकेट से अच्छी शुरूआत के बाद भी गंवा दिया.

165 रन के मिले लक्ष्य का पीछा करने उतरे केएल राहुल और मयंक अग्रवाल (Mayank Agarwal) की जोड़ी ने तूफानी शुरूआत दिलाई. जिस तरह से इन दोनों बल्लेबाजों ने शुरूआत दी थी. ऐसा लगा इस लक्ष्य को टीम आसानी से हासिल कर लेगी. लेकिन, ट्विस्ट तब आया जब राहुल 39 रन बनाकर पवेलियन लौटे. इसके बाद निकोलस पूरन ने फिर से निराश किया 3 रन बनाकर चहल की जाल में फंस गए.

डेथ ओवर में पहले मयंक भी 57 रन बनाकर चलते बने. इसके बाद इसी ओवर ही अगली गेंद पर सरफराज भी चहल की गेंद पर बोल्ड हो गए. हालांकि सलामी बल्लेबाज जहां सोशल मीडिया पर अपनी बल्लेबाजी से चर्चा बटोर रहे हैं. वहीं पूरन जैसे खिलाड़ियों को ट्रोलिंग का भी सामना करना पड़ रहा है. मध्यक्रम के बल्लेबाजों ने पूरा खेल बिगाड़ दिया और इस मुकाबले में 6 विकेट से गंवा दिया.
