The Railways cricket team represents Indian railways in Indian domestic cricket. It is governed by the Railways Sports Promotion Board. The team's home ground is East Coast Railway Stadium in Bhubaneswar and Karnail Singh Stadium in New Delhi.
The Railways team was founded in the year 1958. In the same year, the Railways cricket team also played its first-class game, against Eastern Punjab in Jalandhar. While Railways could not enjoy a very successful phase in the first few decades, it enjoyed a good run in 2000s.
The Railways cricket team has won two Ranji Trophy titles so far and both the victories came in 2000s. They won their first title in 2001-02 season before winning India's premier first-class tournament again in 2004-05. Railways have also finished runners-up in the Ranji Trophy twice - 1987-88 and 2000-01. In the 2000s, the team also won the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2005-06 season.
