दरअसल ड्रिंक ब्रेक के बाद केएल राहुल अपना विकेट दे बैठे. इसके बाद अय्यर और फिर पंत भी 85 रन का बड़ा स्कोर बनाकर आउट हो गए. लेकिन, शार्दुल ठाकुर (Shardul Thakur) ने पहले वेंकटेश के साथ मिलकर जबरदस्त अंदाज में बल्लेबाजी की और फिर अश्विन ने उनका साथ दिया.
इस दौरान उन्होंने 38 गेंदों का सामना करते हुए 40 रन की शानदार पारी खेली और भारत को सम्मानजनक स्कोर (287) तक पहुंचाया. पहले वनडे मैच में भी उन्होंने 50 रन की नाबाद अर्धशतकीय पारी खेली थी. उनकी इस पारी की सोशल मीडिया पर काफी तारीफ हो रही है.
